(New Orleans) - After building an 18 point lead, Kentucky was able to hold off a furious comeback attempt by Kansas to win the 2012 National Championship.

Congratulations to winner Lou Zefran who snuck in with 96 points. Second place was Artie Fetterman with 95. Al Dyno captured third place with 88 total points. Thank you to everyone who participated in this years Henderson NCAA Tournament Challenge! We look forward to enjoying another great season next year.

Thank you to everyone for sending your brackets in early this year. Check the leader board and see how you match up against the total 139 entries this year. While down from our record of 185, we are still quite pleased with the participation level this year.

With last years winner Tim Wolff retiring from the Tournament, once again we will not have a back to back champion. During the first 12 years we have not had anyone winning twice. With the early upsets, the all time scoring record of 105 during the 2001 Tournament Challenge will be safe again as Artie Fetterman could end up with 102 at the most.

Don't forget to check out the new additions under the Meet & Greet section. Also, results from our annual 2012 meeting are posted under the news section. Take a look back over the past 13 years as you read this riveting piece from a guest writer.

Kentucky was the top favorite with 58 brackets selecting them as the overall champion. Michigan State was picked on 12 brackets followed by 11 for Kansas and Syracuse. Baylor, Temple and Xavier were each selected once.
